Mu 1960 Milton Obote yayambako mu kutandikawo ekibiina ky'ebyobufuzi ki Uganda People's Congress(UPC). UPC ekigendererwa kyayo kwali kusanyaawo amaanyi n'okwenyigira kwa Mengo ekibinja kya Baganda abaali batakiririza mu nzikiriza ngwira abaali bakulembera erimu ku mawanga agali mu Uganda erya Baganda. MU 1962 Kabaka Yekka yegatta ne Uganda People's Congress (UPC). Mukulonda kw'olukiiko okwa nga 22 February 1962 yawangula ebifo 65 ku bifo 68 nga yatwaala ebitundu 90 ku buli kikumi eky'obululu. Mu1980 Mayanja Nkangi yatandikawo ekibina kya Conservative Party,[6] okudda mukifo kya Kabaka Yekka mu mateeka oba mubukyaamu.[7]
